Had my snail for a week and a half, and he seems to have grown nearly half a centimetre larger than when I got him. Is this normal? Are they supposed to grow that fast?

Hi Marcy
Yes this is quite normal , make sure you are adding sufficent amounts of calcium via tank water additives and calcium rich foods to help the snail lay down strong new growth.
Water temperature also influences the growth rate , but warmer water will shorten life span also ... I find that 24C/25C is a happy medium ....
Also if you got your snail from a pet shop you may find that it was in cold water there and also may have been left to survive on algae in the tank ... so if you have it in warmer water and are feeding it well then that would trigger a growing spell .... don't be surprised if he has doubled in size after about 3 weeks ... he may well stop growing at a fast rate then so if it slows down don't worry about it .. pretty much normal stuff.
Cheers
Daz
