I have kept freshwater snails for years now, so I have seen eggs being laid and kinda know how to deal with them etc etc. But I bought some freshwater snails (brown/tan stripe apple snails) a couple of weeks ago. They arrived this morning. When I put them in a seperate tank, the snails disposed all their poo and "eggs", there are eggs everywhere, not in a "lump", so what do I do with all the eggs? I mean I cannot just put them all down in the sink, but how am I going to fish every single little egg out from the tank? The water in there is pretty dirty because of the poo that the snails make during the journey, so there's a mixtrue of poo and eggs.
Please help.

Hi Felix,
Do you know what type of freshwater snails they are? A photo would be great if you have one of the snails and the eggs.

Janet,
They are the brown stripe and golden apple snails. The size of the adult snail is about 1.5" in shell length or just slightly smaller. I know that they usually lay eggs in a big lump, but all the eggs that the snails came with are all loose. I noticed them when I put them in the seperate tank, and the poo and the eggs (there are mixture of different eggs in there) just fell off to the bottom of the tank.
The eggs are all at the bottom of the tank mix with the poo, so I don't think I can take pics of the eggs at all as it's just too small everywhere, if you know what I mean.

If apple snails eggs are underwater for a while the babies drown. I've never seen eggs that are laid all seperate so i'm assuming they came apart underwater.
I would use a gravel vac to siphon them out and dispose of them.

When they first came to me this morning, they are in dry land if you know what I mean. I put the snails in the water (seperate tank) just to make sure everything was okay before I put them in the big tank. There's no gravel or anything in the seperate tank right now. The thing is when I put them all in that tank, the snails started to dispose their poo and I noticed there are some eggs too. So you might be right that the eggs come apart.
So there's no chance any of these eggs could be safe right? I just want to make sure before I throw them all away, just in case.
Thanks again.

I just fished them all out, and wait and see before I bin them, just in case. Nevermind, I live and learn, have never have the snails came with eggs to me in the past. The positive side is the 10 snails I have got are big and fat adults, so they can soon join in with my other 22 different colours one, which will be nice in the tank. ;D *Just in case anyone reading this, I am after some blue or beige colour apple snails, if anyone have any babies and are willing to part with them. I would like to have some as I only have 4 of each of them.

Clutches can survive after being in water for a few hours, but I've never had any success after fishin out scattered eggs like you're describing. Rest assured, though, you WILL have more eggs to hatch
