do they grow back as one of my oldest adults was on the bottom of the community tank with a MTS and some baby apple snails in it's shell and either they'd eaten the door or it'd been bashed in some how and had gone, but the snail was still alive from what i could tell as it didn't smell and reacted when poked gently
its currently in a jug of tank water
is it too late for it or do the doors grow back?

well about an hour later i checked it and it seemed dead so ive stuck some mts in the jug to clean up the shell ready for the shell dweller tank

Trap doors can grow back.
I discovered my only gold brig had lost her trap door on Christmas day last year and put her into a floating breeder to stop the others from munching on her. Her trap door grew again although it's not as smooth and perfect as her original it still does the job.

she died so i chucked her in the water that i took the brine shrimp out of so i could steralise the shell before removeing her from it
just makeing sure its clean before putting it in the shell dweller tank

well it was 1 out of 15 and was pretty much the only one i didnt mark the sex down on so it was for the best i suppose just wish i could remember which colour blob were for which sex, i think it was red fr girls and blue for boys, might have been the other way round though
