Right, I've taken a good hard look at the import laws to Canada, and although Tigers are banned outright, their eggs aren't. They are the only GALS that are banned as far as I know.
Also as far as I know, none of the eggies re banned. I'm willing to do way more research on this, if anyone is willing to ship me eggs.
Kathy's picture of her large Margie just melted me, and I've got to have some gals!

Not being nasty or anything, but if GALs are banned in USA / Canada, even if you said eggs are not. What if the eggs hatched, then you are still keeping / importing some illegal snails.
Sending eggs abroad to a long distance might not work as the eggs probably won't survive in such long journey, espeically they need to be kept warm and wet (and steady). And if they are fulicas eggs, they might hatch during the journey because it is pretty easy to hatch the eggs.

www.manandmollusc.net/Odessa/snail-laws.htmlThis link says that all GALS are banned, with the exception of achatina achatina and only then if you have a permit. Putting that aside, I don't think you'll get anywhere getting eggs sent - especially when it comes to margies, as they probably wouldn't hatch. Not many people would be willing to send you snails/eggs considering the law Sorry!

That's what I get for relying on memory. Ah well, I guess I better start the paperwork for a permit, and do some more digging.

Sorry guys, I didn't realise that I'd cause such an uproar by asking for eggs, and that it's harder to ship eggs than the snails themselves.
I'd not want anyone to get into trouble, so I'll just drop it for now until I have the paperwork in hand, and proof that all is on the up-and-up.

You don't have to apologise - you haven't caused an uproar at all *hug*.

There is nothing to be sorry for and no need to apologize. If you didn't ask, you wouldn't know. If you like to keep snails, may be not GALs, you can still keep some of the garden snails which you could be able to find. I know a few Americans (I know you are from Canada) and they keep garden snails and still have so much joy from them. Only a suggestion of course.
