my aunt was staying over and saw something floating in the pond on the 15th august (yesterday morning) and got my dad to net it out, it was a small hedgehog, half grown so still a baby, they then saw an adult (the mother as it turns out) in a rolled up in the pond at the surface, so he netted it out and found it was alive
so my aunt dried it off as much as she could and put it in a shoe box on an old t-shirt with a heat pad under it to help warm her up.
my mom then woke me up (it was only 9:30am) and i had to find a hedgepig rescue place in brum for her to phone incase it needed treatment, which i found, but they said to just keep her in the box till night to rest her and give it a bit of cat food (chicken in gravy flavour) to get her strength up, so we left her in the box and my mom went to get a packet of food from up road
then my nan saw a baby hedgepig behind my pond, where the rocks and big bush like tree thing is, so i had to climb in and look for it without squashing it  turns out there were 3 there and their nest so they must have had a way out as my mate saw the female pig last week down garden dunno how she was getting out though  but i've hacked down the bush so i can see as it was getting too tall and you couldn't see what the kids were doing in the garden from kitchen and we can now see if they go back
we've had them all in the tortoise run since then and the babies suckled and ate some of the food, dunno about the mother but she had tried to dig out today so we've moved the run so they can go off now
just hope they dont go back behind the pond
any whos, some pics
.
i went to see if they had moved at 9:50pm and i only found one baby on the edge of the lawn so they had gone off
my nan then came to get me at 10:10 cause my aunt had seen the mother and a baby on the patio going towards the pond again, but when i got out i could only see the one baby so we're leaveing them to it as they got this far without falling in so we'll hope for the best and put in a ramp one of these days so if they fall in they can get out again
