Well here goes...
I got into this "fishies" business about 4 years ago, with a little wee 10g. Then a friend told me about someone she knew with a BIG TANK and "chiklets" that was for sale. Heh, I took it, to find out it was a 25g, and the "cicklets" were mbuna, and they needed a way larger tank and very many more fish, to be really happy.
So,......I managed to get my hands on a 65g, it was not "showroom" but hey, it was BIG and it had a 12" Oscar, 24" Snakehead, and 12" Pleco. The filter also died when I reset the tank up. Can we say waterchanges? LOL
So anyways, the BIG FISH were found homes, the cichlids (chicklets) were rehomed, and more tanks were acquired. Currently there are 20 set up, and some EVEN BIGGER tanks not set up (filters, you know, they are what kills you!).
I'm 40, female, and a Hairstylist for 18 years, self employed, living with my significant other, who thinks the snails are kinda "cool", unlike his opinion of most of the rest of the fish. His fave is "porky" the Porcupine Puffer, who I admit is a right character!
Hmmm, no kids, 3 cats, grew up with lots of dogs (Golden Retrievers), I spell colour correctly (most Canadians do), as I was born in Stafford. Yep, still a UK citizen, but working on getting dual citizenship, as it was 1969 when we "came across"!!!
Lessee, other than fish/snails, I curl (the game on ice) and have been at that for 30+ years, got bit HARD by the golf but about 10 years ago, love rollerblading, swimming, and just nice walks in the outdoors. I read anything and everything, in book form, magasine form, and of course, online
Anyways, must jet, I have to go meet some new fishies off the train.....
