I'm Lisa, and I'm old, fat and spotty. I live oop north, with my ball and chain, and 5,000 children. Well, ok, 5 of 'em. I sold the others on Ebay. Oh, never mind, here's the real bit. The old, fat and spotty bit still stands, I'm 28, married with 5 kids (ranging from triplet three year olds to our eldest being 10). I keep land snails, we have: Sam - fulica Cooper - fulica or fulica cross Sally and Gary the poorly dimis Monty - reticulata Boycie and Marlene - margies ....and baby Magenta - margie suturalis We also have a rescue lurcher called Sky, pet fancy rats (wont list them all as there's a few!), and two tropical aquariums (one Vision 180 community tank, and one 6ft/135g cichlid tank - with NoName the oscar, Charlie the vieja intermedium, 2 clown loaches, some lemon finned tin foil barbs, and Percy the plec). I was thinking about getting aquatic snails but with there being plecs in both tanks, it's probably not a good idea!. I like rock/metal music (Metallica, GnR, Ozzy, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, etc etc - and - rather embarrassingly - The Darkness being my fave!). I dont get a chance for hobbies, so the snails and other pets are mine. If I get a mo to read, it's usually Stephen King, or James Herbert or similar. Erm...that's it really. I think?

Welcome,
The clown loaches would be more of a problem than the plecs.....clown loaches lurve to eat snails.
Feel free to post some photos of your pets/tanks etc. ;D

Hi Lisa and welcome aboard. Oop North eh? We're Oop North as well , but not quite Oop North as you though .... I'm from the Black Country originally though so there you go. Oooooh I love dogs , four legged love bundles hehe. Ooohh we've just had a Vision 260 for Crimbo , aren't they spectacular tanks?? Well chuffed we are , certainly makes the front room look ultra cool. Yeah it's the clown loaches that'll snaffle any snails , shame that Oooohhh Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy , the true King!! Damn American's have stolen him for themselves , gits. The Darkeness Rule .... your not alone lol. Don't like Stephen King books , his films are great but I don't care much for his books ... I like Shaun Hutson , James Herbert and Graeme Masterton .... Hutson is my fav though , he tends to write what other people daren't LOL. Anyway nice to see you on here , have a good time and ermmm join the insanity lol. Daz

Oooh Graeme Masterton...I recognise that name. Did he write The Manitou? I read that years ago, borrowed off an old mate. Glad I shall not be spat upon by angry villagers with pitchforks for being an Ozzy/Darkness fan ;D And as I cant stop long, a quick pic of our big tank: It looks like it's not lit, but it comes out odd when I use the flash. Without flash, it's blurry. New camera syndrome, dont know how to use it yet *lol* Our Vision 180 is second hand, but it looks fab - not bad for £150 either

Thanks for the welcome everyone The fish tank is 6ft x 2ft x 18", so it works out at 135 gallons I think. If it was 180 you'd have me shopping for more fishies ;D Sorry I'm not posting much of a message, but had injections into my pelvis yesterday so sitting = rather sore *lol* Thanks though for the lovely welcome

Oooh Linda, are you the same Phoenixx who posted about the liquid calcium on PetSnails a while back?
Dont suppose you could let me know how you use it/how often/how much? Am thinking of giving it a go for the dimis. They eat cuttlefish like it's going out of fashion, but are still small and very very slow growing.

We've managed to get a new supply of bottles , but they are 50 ml instead of 100 ml .... so 50ml of Calcium I'll do you for £1.99 inc P & P. Just put one drop in your spray bottle .. if it's an exceptionally large spray bottle put 2 drops in .... 50ml will last you a long long time.
Let me know if you want it.
Cheers
