Hey Emma, Where do you keep your GALS? or rather what in? I would imagine they would need a HUGE tank, also the tank would need a firm lid I would think, just curious - at least for now!! Val

well, unlike apples snails, GALS dont need a huge tank to thrive. They need enough room to slime around and eat and thats about it! bare in mind that these are not the most active of animals and "floor space" isnt overly relevant as they use the wall and lids of the tank as well! I keep two large snails iin each home and I keep them in the plastic "petpal" house. Obviously they need to have their peat changed every few weeks, but this is no more complicated than cleaning out a rabbit or guineapig! They really are very easy to look after. just keep them moist, fed and with cuttle fish and they will thrive! I have never had a gal die, and I have over 20 of them. I would say in comparison to fish keeping they are a doddle as you dont have to worry about water quality and seeing when they are dirty is pretty obvious. U can also easily move unwanted food out of the tank. I have to say, of all the pets i have kept, fish have been the most tempremental. (albeit goldfish) my apple snails have thrived in comparrison. Usually when i have realised one of my fish is ill it has been too late. Anyways, if u wanna get Gals oneday there is plenty of places to get them and they are extremly easy to look after. I think the only way u could kill them is by not feeding them or letting their tank over heat/dry out
