The best thing is, these snails are the friendliest type I keep. The behave unlike my other snails in a number of ways.
They're always playing with each other and like to get close, not as part of mating, just generally.
They stash away things like cuttlefish; they pick it up with their foot like other snails do, the difference being they sneak off with it and hide, managing to somehow hold small pieces as they move. Everytime I pick them up they have something tucked away!
If they are in the mood, they make all sorts of clicks, gurgles and honks. I've only ever heard noises from my others when they retract quickly. These seem to do it much more freely and with a better singing voice, lol.
I'm gonna have to get round to taking pictures, I have 2 adults, 2 sub-adults and about 80 hatchlings. They're all gorgeous but the two sub-adults are especially cute.

I wouldn't have hatched them normally but with there being so many people who want some I decided to let this clutch hatch. I don't think I'll have much trouble re-homing them. I have requests for about 30 already.

oh yes, i know it too. i do still have one tank in the cellar, but no space in my room ( ok, i already have three tabks in here..) but one more would be also nice. a room just for snails would be great *dreaming* it's not a perfect solution to have humid tanks full of earth and animals in the room you sleep in...

Tell me about it lol, these babies are paying for my tank upgrade and the research book I bought. But I wish I had more space for more species. While I am on, I still have 5 Achatina fulica free to a good home. They were sent to me for IDing incase they turned out to be the ones I wanted. They weren't, so if anyone wants them, let me know. I'll even pay the postage if one person claims them all; I want to see them in a good home. If anyone wants some dimidiata reserving for them, let me know - no obligation but at least I can give you first refusal. I'll probably sell them for £2-3 each + postage. I'd sell them cheaper but to be honest most of the cash won't be for me personally, except to cover my expenses. I'd really like to use the money for furthering research. So far, I have managed to create a guide to Tiger sub-species from the book. So, Emma if you'd like to know what type of Tigers you own this may be useful to you: www.petsnails.co.uk/species/achatina_achatina_subspecies.jpgLastly, if anyone wishes to be added to the following list let me know: www.petsnails.co.uk/docs/species_wanted_list.htmlRegarding all this research, if anyone if interested in helping out or getting involved you're more than welcome. *sigh* i'd love to take two dimidiatas, they are so beautiful, but i can't i'll already get two stuhlmanni/panthera half-breeds and two white immacultas, so then my tanks will really be full, so no more snails for me, untill i move out of my parent's and have more space for more tanks *sigh*

So, stuhlmanni and panthera can interbreed? I was told by the British Natural History museum that Lissachatina and Achatina proper can't interbreed or rather there was no known case of it happening.
