Hi Val,
Are you excited about having new baby snails? My dimidiata arrived from Paul on Wednesday. The are so cute, they really are. Every morning I give them a little rinse in warm water then put them on the fresh food. They eat then go for a walk. You will love them. Am happy for you. You know there's always folk around to help - I had and still have hundreds of questions. I don't know what I would do with out Paul and Fredrik.
Anyway, if you fancy a glass of chilled Chardonnay and a ciggie, you know where to find me. ;D Drag Daz, Linda and Emma along, too. About time we had a party to welcome Daz.
Love Correne

Hey Correne, Yes I am excited, can't wait, I just hope that Paul received my email O.K. because he lost my ddress and I sent it to him again. When you say they go for a walk - you mean in their tank? what substrate are you using? I am going to start with vermiculite but I shall try coir too at a later date.

Hi Val, Hope you haven't got a hangover after all the Chardonnay I fed you down the tube last night! What's going on? Why can't you get in? When I say they go for a walk, that's just my silly terminolgy. They slime around their tank. I give each snail a rinse in tepid water, remove all food and poo from the tank, spray the substrate digging around in it too to airate it, put the cuttle, fresh food and water dish back in, put the snails on the food, and spray the sides of the tank. After they eat they always climb up the tank walls (drinking the water that I sprayed) and sometimes stay at the top for several hours. I use coir (coconut) substrate and find it fantastic. Fredrik has suggested I try peat after my stocks of coir run out. I will give it a go as it's apparently cheaper to use. However, I can't fault the coir. Paul has some thorough information here: www.petsnails.co.uk/index.php?action=care&type=substrateMeantime, I know Paul is busy this weekend. I'm sure he's got your e-mail. Correne

Yes - he emailed me back all is fine. I am getting my snailies on Tueesday Yipppeeeeee. Correne how did you buy your coir? (yes I know with money) was it in a bag already moist? I have ordered some coir bricks which apparently you rehydrate however much you want to use, they seem like a good idea, I couldn't get any at the garden centres that hadn't got fertilisers mixed in. You made me laugh with that tube!!!
