Lisa knows how I've panicked for the last few of months that my fulicas have never, ever laid eggs. Now we've only had them since last summer and they were young uns, but I was concerned none the less as Lisa's oldest fulica (Keith's brother) had laid a good two batches. Now some of you might remember that we found a sole egg on their capillary matting, which I put aside to hatch (albos in there too). Well it was infertile but about 2 weeks ago, we found another, just one again, cracked but more fertile looking (squished ). I don't know which is worse - worrying about them not laying or worrying that they're odd and only lay one. So last night when I went in, I was really chuffed to find GAZILLIONS of eggs. I have no idea which they are from, and they'll be frozen later this morning, but whehey even so! My snails ARE healthy ;D

Well, just done the ceremonial freezing of the first batch *lol*. I hope it gets easier with time because that was quite depressing. ;D

Glad to hear it Kathy , at least you can stop worrying now .... must be great to see eggs from something you have raised. I remember way back when we got our first fertile apple snail clutch .... it was amazing to see the little fella's dropping out of the eggs into the water and then floating around upside down at the surface of the water skimming for food. Yeah , well done .... you should be proud , I believe that snails etc will only reproduce if they are happy with their surroundings ... so you've done a good job then Daz

Thanks Daz - it's taken a fair bit more work than expected to perfect things in there for them, but I think we've got the setup just right now and I won't be changing it in a hurry (no I don't mean I won't be cleaning it in a hurry) *lmao*.
Must be amazing to see aquatic snails lay - we missed the big event with the GALS and I went in there last night and said "Right boys and girls, let's see if you've laid" in sarcy mode, as I say just about every time I go in. This time they bloody had - I nearly had a heart attack! ;D

Congrats! It's always fun seeing eggs from the critters we keep. I tend to think it means we're doing right by them.
