Newbie posting a very quick question. A friend has foisted her snails (I have no idea what they may be, they're not African ones but I can't find a "general snail" section here) on me as they have mites and I'm supposed to sort the problem out. I can't seem to find any info on how to sort the problem though - Can anyone give me a quick list of instructions, or point me to a webpage please? And yes, it's definately mites they've got, as there's lots of little white dots crawling around, mostly seem to be going in and out what I guess is the breathing hole...

Generally I find changing the soil in their tank can help with this problem.

put the snails in a tray of room temp water and then thoroughly scrub the tank and completely rechaange everything. mites also occur when the snails are not bathed or don't have their tanks cleaned ou often enough
