Went to a pet shop yesterday where I found two snails being kept in awful waterlogged conditions and with rotten food. Already have 6 snails but couldn't leave them and came home with them. After cleaning them up which took ages they have settled into a new tank but I have noticed that one of them only has one eye stalk, where the other should be there is just a bump which doesn't extend. Has anyone seen this before ? Do you think it was born like it or has this damage happened whilst growing. Both the snails have evidence of previous damage on their shells but seem to be eating well now - were starving when I put fresh food in with them. They both measure over 4 inches (shell) so are not youngsters. Any advice/info would be appreciated.
