hi everyone! sorry i havent been around much again but im back to school again now and already getting flooded with a level essays anyway, just thought id update you on the axolotl babies. i have one left. yup. one. costia again. i think they may be in the adult tank but the adults dont show symptoms and arent affected but because they have costia they are being passed onto the eggs through the water as soon as they are laid and theres nothing i can do. as i said though, one baby left who ive decided to keep. eventually he'll go in with the parents when hes grown a little more. hes around 1.5" now and has his front legs and his back legs are emerging now. you can just about see the little stumps past his belly. ive christened him jack as in jack daniels because all my axolotls have alcohol based names. lol. here he is:
while were on the subject of my little creatures, i will be looking for homes for my fry very soon. if you are interested and are willing to drive to ipwich to collect them do tell me. theyre a mismatch of common and comet tailed shubunkins, commons, comets, white goldies and canary yellow goldies. i will also be looking for homes for some *special* fish who would benifit from some extra care and attention due to a deformity like a curved spine or swim bladder problems. tell me if youre interested. theyre all ranging from 0.5"-1.5" at the moment and are suitable to be in a tank with hiding places with visually impaired/slow fish. apologies for the poor quality of this pic. ill get some better ones once we move house in a few days (hence the bucket).
