Hi Lottie welcome to the forum,
Can you tell us a little about your tank like the size, how long it's been set up for and how many critters live in the tank? Also if you test the water could you tell us the readings for nitrAte, nitrIte and ammonia?

They need a filtered tank big enough to be able to cope with their numbers. It's recommended you allow 2.5 gallons for every adult brig....and 5 gallons each for canas.
If you have them in an unsuitable sized tank you must do water changes everyday depending on the overstocking using a water conditioner like aqua plus or aqua safe.
Is there a filter in the tank? Also do you know the tank size in gallons or litres or the measurements of the tank?
