Well okay so my parents wont let me have millipedes, tarantulas, centipedes or any of those bugs << >> though a snail is a molusk c: i still like them and was wondering since I live in the U.S.A. I wanted to know is it illegal to own african land snails in the usa? I dont want a very big snail i want something about. the shell would be two inches tall and maybe 2 and half inches wide and 2-3 inches long and the snail itself is about adding an extra 2 inches. and i was planning to keep atleast one or two of those in a large "Kritter keeper" you know the very long ones? well yeah and i wanted all the information possible on any snail i could keep or maybe a slug. :/ but i cant decide which ones better or more interesting.
so my questions are: Any snail not illegal in the usa that are pretty active?(land snails) A snail that stays about the size of a hermitcrab. you know the small ones? like when you get a hermitcrab they come in small shells. so i wanted to see if there was something like that. A snail thats good for begginners and doesnt mind a bit of handling. I was told if you soak your hands in pure water before you pick up a snail that they dont mind it. I used to live in puertorico and they umm << >> well they had these snails that were the size of well a hermit crab shell. and they looked abit like rams horn snails except bigger. And i want to know what would be a good re-usable substrate that wont be messy. How moist should i keep it? will it smell bad?
