Dear friends of snails and slugs, currently I'm working on my dissertation about Limacidae in the Southern Alps. The genus Limax (Gastropoda: Pulmonata: Stylommatophora) comprises about 50 species in Europe, most of them in Southern Europe and with alpine distribution. They are quite large (6 - 30 cm) which feed mainly on fungi, terrastial alges, lichens and dead plants and which have an unique and highly complicated copulation behaviour. It would be so nice if some of you supported my project by voting for it via the following link: www.stipendium.de/bewerber-2011/3....page=1&s=KatrinDon't worry! You don't have to pay or something like this. It's just a voting via Facebook, Google+ or Twitter and the most liked project wins a stipend. I really need the stipend for travelling costs and expeditions. Though, there are many other projects as well and I don't think that there's a big lobby for snails and slugs out there. That's why I beg you guys for your help! Thank you so much! Limax monregalensis (Foto: Gabriela Chiapetta)
